Judy
Wyles, co-founder of Cherokee County's Project Zero, appeared on local
television today with Madonna, a wonderful Staffordshire Terrier who
is available for adoption. Madonna showed up as a stray at the home
of a well-known rescuer of unwanted dogs. She's been fully vetted and
has no agression towards anyone or anything. She is very sweet and
affectionate, and gets along well with dogs and people. Madonna is
close to a year old and about 30lbs - please consider taking this wonderful
pet into your home. Look for the Pet of the Week on local television
to learn about other great animals looking for a new home!
01 August 2005 Project Zero opened its phone lines for
Cherokee County's new low-cost spay/neuter program in mid-June. Geared
to help low-income residents afford
to alter their pets, information and access to a phone counselor can be
found by calling 864-488-1FIX (1349) and leaving a message in the "voice
mail in the sky." Someone will return your call between 9am and 5pm
Monday through Thursday. We are also in the process of opening an adoption
center in a pastoral setting just minutes from town. The pets we rescue
from the shelters will be quarantined in foster care for no less than 7
days. After they complete our assessment process and are fully vetted,
they will be placed in the kennels at the adoption center pending permanent
placement. We are committed to making Project Zero the most affordable
place in Cherokee County for individuals and families to find a healthy,
friendly and well-adjusted new pet.
